My homemade nachos for a crowd
1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
1/2 cup olive oil
1 – 2 tablespoons of garlic powder
salt to taste
approx 14 7″ tortillas (its up to you how many you want to make each tortilla will make 8 chips)
2 16 oz Mexican mix shredded cheese
1 can pitted black olives diced
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Melt the butter, oil, garlic powder & salt in a sauce pan.
Take any size flour tortilla, brush melted butter mixture on both sides, stack up 4 – 6 tortillas then cut through with a pizza cutter, making 8 chips per tortilla (see photos)
Place on cookie sheets, bake 7 – 10 minutes checking them at 7 minutes you don’t want them to burn. Remove from oven when their just nicely browned.
To make nachos, layer tortilla chips alternately with cheese, diced black olives and green onion. Bake in 400 degree oven until cheese melts. Serve immediately.
